Inventec's Indian Facility to Launch Mass Production in 2Q15
February 04, 2015

Inventec's board of directors has approved the company's US$10-million investment to set up local production lines for smartphones, tablets, notebook PCs, and servers in Chennai, southern India, reported Commercial Times on February 4. As a first step of the company's overseas expansion, the plant will begin production at the end of the second or beginning of the third quarter of 2015. Part of the components the factory uses will be purchased locally from Indian suppliers. Meanwhile, thanks to strong performance of its ODM/OEM business of smartphones and tablets, the company expects shipments of mobile handheld devices to reach 100 million units in 2015, up 42% year-on-year.
